Are you close to burn out?

I see it so often.
The savvy, busy business owner. The one who seems to have their sh*t together, spinning all the plates and serving their clients.
If that’s you – are you ok??
Seriously? Are you ok?? Before I started my own business, I worked with a number of 6 and 7 figure business owners, who did allllll the things and span allllll the plates, and then all of a sudden, they crashed.
Not a ‘I’ve got a headache I’m going to have the day off’ crash, but a full on exit of the business for 3 months type of burnout.
It’s serious.
And it’s completely avoidable.
Now you may be thinking, that won’t be me, I’m fine. But let me tell you, that it definitely could be you.
Like it could have been me.
I started my business in 2016 with a just turned 3 year old and a 2 month old baby. Crazy? Maybe…
I’ve done the late nights, the youtubing until I know how to do something, the baby breastfeeding in one arm, with my laptop in the other.
But I quickly surrounded myself with a supportive team, helpful family, and a network that lifts me up. I realised very early on that having a team to help do the things that I didn’t want to do actually gave me space to just breath.
If you are that entrepreneur that is doing everything, please STOP.
Think back to why you started your business. Maybe you wanted to help people. Maybe you’re a divorce coach and wanted to help other women to truly live their lives post-divorce.
Maybe you’re a life coach and thrive on interacting with your clients in 1-2-1 sessions.
Where do you really get your kicks?
That is where you should be spending your time. Doing that. And just that.
So, I have a task for you! Write down everything you do in a day. Everything! Including school runs, shopping, your email inbox, E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.
Now, go through that list and highlight the things that you LOVE to do, or that only you can do.
One of the things I do NOT love is accounts, so I outsource this, but I do have to refresh the banking feed and pull off the statements, no one else has access to these. Only I can do that.
But everything else, I outsource.
Look down your list at all the things that you do not love to be doing, that could be done by someone else.
You should be delegating these tasks. You might have a small team, or you might need to think about hiring.
If money is your block here, then do this. Next to each of those tasks that you are doing that you shouldn’t be, add a number of how many minutes/hours you spend doing it each week.
When you add up all that time, if you spent that time marketing/networking and taking on new clients, how many new clients could you take on with that free time?
Now I’m not saying you need to instantly hand everything over (but that could be pretty cool, right?!) but have a think about the steps you can take to start getting some of those tasks that make you roll your eyes off your plate, and delegated down through your team.
Now here’s the thing – I also think your team should also be working in their unique brilliance. So, if you have lots of KPIs and spreadsheet and data that you need to get off your plate, then hire someone who loves that.
If you need help with writing copy then hire someone who loves that.
If you need help with getting everything organised and overseeing the operations, then hire someone who loves that.
And if you don’t have a team just yet, then start now. Hire a specialist VA off upwork, look on local Facebook groups or ask a peer for a recommendation.
If you want to be a 7 figure business owner, then you need to act like one. And 7 figure business owners don’t manage their support emails, respond to customer queries, or manage their launches, they have a kick-ass team around them that facilitate this for them.
Take one step today to get you closer to those 7 figures.
And when you’re ready, why not see how we can help?
